This week's topic: Fundraising Ideas

What fundraising events have worked for your non-profit agency?

On a monthly basis, our agency does a salad bar lunch for our employees to raise funds for the ERC, the Employee Recognition Committee, that oversees all functions related to employees such as years of service gifts, flowers for deaths in the family, and our annual holiday party. One floor would volunteer to bring salad items and the ERC would provide all the lettuce. For just $4 one could fill their plate with whatever toppings they could fit and the ERC would keep all the profits which could end up being hundreds of dollars.

There were also many other events such as an OSU Tailgate party where people paid to enter a cornhole tournament and play other games as well as buy hot dogs, drinks and chips donated by employees or purchased by the ERC. Each month during our All Staff meeting, we would have a breakfast donated by different floors and we also have done pancake breakfasts.

Do you have any fresh new ideas to raise funds?
